Remarks: Previously regarded as a synonym of Brachyorrhos (e.g., Murphy 2007). Revalidated by Murphy, Mumpuni, Lang, Gower & Sanders (2012). Reports from Papua New Guinea are erroneous as they are based on Mainophis robusta Macleay 1877, a synonym of the elapid snake Furina tristis, but previously regarded as a synonym of Calamophis jobiensis by some authors (e.g., Iskandar & Colijn 2001; Murphy 2007).
Distribution: Indonesia (Western New Guinea, Yapen).

Remarks: Previously regarded as a synonym of Brachyorrhos albus (e.g., Boulenger 1893). Revalidated by Iskandar & Colijn (2001) on the recommendation of Van Wallach (pers. comm., 1999). Validity confirmed by Murphy (2007, 2012) and Murphy, Mumpuni, Lang, Gower & Sanders (2012). Previously included Brachyorrhos raffrayi. Records from Aru Islands (Indonesia) are based on a species of the genus Brachyorrhos (see remarks under this genus).
Distribution: Indonesia (Yapen).
