Remarks: Previously regarded as a synonym of Virginia (e.g., Behler & King 1979) or vice versa (e.g., Schmidt 1953). Revalidated as a separate genus by McVay & Carstens (2013). Nuñez, Gray, Weisrock & Burbrink (2023) suggested that Haldea is retained as a synonym of Virginia.
