Remarks: Only genus of the family occurring also outside Australia.
Distribution: Australia, New Guinea, and nearby islands.
Reported from: Australia (Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland [incl. Fraser Island, Torres Strait Islands], South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia), Indonesia (Aru Islands, Western New Guinea), Papua New Guinea (Bismarck Archipelago [New Britain], Eastern New Guinea).

Remarks: Whitaker & Whitaker (1982) probably confused burtonis and jicari when they recorded burtonis, but not jicari, from New Britain. Only jicari has been reported from that island.
Distribution: Australia (Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland [incl. Fraser Island, Torres Strait Islands], South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia), Indonesia (Aru Islands, Western New Guinea), Papua New Guinea (Eastern New Guinea).
