Sumatranus Murphy & Voris (type species: Homalopsis albo-maculatus Dumeril, Bibron & Dumeril 1854) |
Contents:
1 species, which is endemic.
Endemism: 0% 100%
Remarks:
The single species of this genus was previously placed in
Enhydris (e.g., Murphy 2007).
In their description of Sumatranus, the authors claimed the grammatical gender of the name to be feminine, but presumably in error, since they retained the
ending of the specific epithet of the only species in the genus as "-us" (masculine), not "-a" (feminine).
Moreover, had it been feminine, the genus name should have been Sumatrana.
Distribution:
As for the single species.
