Distribution: Australia (Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia).

Remarks: Previously regarded as a synonym of Lophognathus gilberti (e.g., Shea & Sadlier 1999). Considered a valid species by Swan, Shea & Sadlier (2004). Validity confirmed by Melville, Ritchie, Chapple, Glor & Schulte (2011).
Distribution: Australia (New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia).

Remarks: Previously regarded as a subspecies or synonym of Lophognathus gilberti (e.g., Shea & Sadlier 1999). Following Melville, Ritchie, Chapple, Glor & Schulte (2011), Cogger (2014) regarded centralis as a separate species, however, he included the range of both centralis and gilberti in the distribution map of gilberti.
Distribution: Australia (Northern Territory, Queensland, Western Australia).
