Sphenocalamus lineolatus Fischer (Wilson 1987) |
1928 | |
Tantilla depressa Dunn (Smith & Taylor 1945) |
Remarks:
Believed to occur only in Oaxaca (Wilson 1988; Wilson & Mata-Silva 2015), although the species has been listed also from
Sinaloa (Hardy & McDiarmid 1969; Heimes 2016; Lemos-Espinal & Smith 2020) and Michoacan (Duellman 1961, 1965; Alvarado-Díaz, Suazo-Ortuño, Wilson & Medina-Aguilar 2013).
The records from Michoacan are based on misidentified
Tantilla calamarina (Wilson 1987).
The Sinaloan record is based on the type locality, Mazatlán, Sinaloa, of the synonym Sphenocalamus lineolatus, which Wilson (1987) suggests might refer to the Oaxacan village
San Juan Mazatlán, and not Mazatlan in Sinaloa.
Records from Colima may have been based on misidentifications.
Presence in the state needs confirmation (Reyes-Velasco, Grünwald, Jones & Ahumada-Carrillo 2020).
Distribution:
Mexico
(Oaxaca).
