Remarks: O'Shea, Doria, Petri & Kaiser (2016) reported a specimen collected in Papua New Guinea and accessioned to Museo Civico di Storia Naturale in Genova, Italy, in 1876. The specimen confirms that the species is not a wartime or post-war introduction to New Guinea, as often assumed in earlier publications, but naturally occurring populations.
Introduced to: New Zealand.
Distribution: Australia (Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland [incl. Fraser Island], South Australia, Victoria), Indonesia (Western New Guinea), Papua New Guinea (Eastern New Guinea).
