Pseudonaja elliotti Hoser (Kaiser, Crother, Kelly, Luiselli, O'Shea, Ota, Passos, Schleip & Wüster 2013) |
Remarks:
O'Shea, Doria, Petri & Kaiser (2016) reported a specimen collected in Papua New Guinea and accessioned to Museo Civico di Storia Naturale in Genova, Italy, in 1876.
The specimen confirms that the species is not a wartime or post-war introduction to New Guinea, as often assumed in earlier publications, but naturally occurring
populations.
Introduced to:
New Zealand.
Distribution:
Australia
(Australian Capital Territory,
New South Wales,
Northern Territory,
Queensland
[incl.
Fraser Island],
South Australia,
Victoria),
Indonesia
(Western New Guinea),
Papua New Guinea
(Eastern New Guinea).
