Taxonomy of the family Scincidae
Bibliography of the genus Silvascincus
Biodiversity of the family Scincidae

Genus
Silvascincus

Australian Speckled Forest Skinks

Australische Gesprenkelte Waldskinke

Australske Spættede Skovskinker

2009 Karma Wells (type species: Lygosoma murrayi Boulenger 1887; syn. Skinner, Hutchinson & Lee 2013 [by implication])
2013 Silvascincus Skinner, Hutchinson & Lee (type species: Lygosoma murrayi Boulenger 1887)
Contents: 2 species, both of which are endemic.
Endemism: 0% 100%
Remarks: The two species of this genus were previously included in Eulamprus (e.g., Cogger 1996). Kaiser, Crother, Kelly, Luiselli, O'Shea, Ota, Passos, Schleip & Wüster (2013) suggested to ignore scientific names published after 1 January 2000 by R. Wells and R. Hoser. However, Cogger (2014) pointed out that such an action may be invalid, in which case Karma is the valid name for this genus. A case is currently being processed by the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature to resolve this issue.
Distribution: Australia (New South Wales, Queensland).
