Remarks: Previously regarded as a synonym of Ctenosaura (e.g., Etheridge 1982). Revalidated by Malone, Reynoso & Buckley (2017).
Distribution: Guatemala, Mexico (Campeche, Quintana Roo, Yucatan).

Remarks: According to González-Sánchez, Johnson, García-Padilla, Mata-Silva, DeSantis & Wilson (2017), alfredschmidti occurs in the state of Yucatan, but I have been unable to find any publication that reports exact localities, hence, presence in the state is not included in the map.
Distribution: Guatemala, Mexico (Campeche, Quintana Roo, Yucatan).
