1983 Nactus Kluge (type species: Gymnodactylus arnouxii Dumeril 1851)
1988 Mascarenogecko Ulber & Gericke (type species: Gymnodactylus serpensinsula Loveridge 1951; syn. Bauer 1994)
Contents: 12 species, of which 10 (83.3%) are endemic. In addition to this, 1 species (soniae), which was also endemic, is considered extinct.
Remarks: Previously placed in Gymnodactylus or, more recently, in Cyrtodactylus. Two species are present in Palau, one undescribed and one tentatively assigned to pelagicus (Crombie & Pregill 1999).
Distribution: Mascarenes, E. Malay Archipelago, NE. Australia, W. Pacific Ocean.
