Prionodactylus ampuedai La Marca & García-Pérez 1990 [justified emendation of incorrect original spelling] |
Remarks:
Previously included marianus.
Uzzell (1973) regarded ampuedai as a synonym of vertebralis, however, La Marca & García-Pérez (1990) revalidated the form as a separate species.
Doan (2003) also questioned the validity of ampuedai and tentatively synonymized it again with vertebralis, which was supported by Doan & Cusi (2014).
Southern distribution limit of the species is in northern Ecuador.
Records from Peru and southern Ecuador refer to other species (Venegas, Echevarría, Lobos, Sales-Nunes & Torres-Carvajal 2016).
Distribution:
Colombia,
Ecuador,
Panama,
Venezuela.
