Trachischium apteii

Arunachal Pradesh Slender Snake

Arunachal-Pradesh-Wurmnatter

2019 Trachischium apteii Bhosale, Gowande & Mirza

Remarks: Reported from China by Wang, Ren, Chen, Lyu, Guo, Jiang, Chen, Li, Guo, Wang & Che (2020), but the species has not actually been recorded from any Chinese-controlled areas. The inclusion of apteii in the work above is based on the fact that the distribution of the species is located in the part of Arunachal Pradesh, India, which is claimed by China and considered part of Tibet by the Chinese government (Kai Wang, pers. comm., January 6th, 2021).
Distribution: India (Arunachal Pradesh).

Trachischium fuscum

Darjeeling Slender Snake

Darjeeling-Wurmnatter

Darjeeling-ormesnog

1854 Calamaria fusca Blyth
Trachischium fuscum Günther 1860
1854 Calamaria obscuro-striata Blyth (Smith 1943)
1858 Trachischium rugosum Günther (Smith 1943)
1905 Ablabes gilgiticus Annandale (Smith 1943)
1924 Eminophis lineolata Werner (Smith 1943)

Remarks: Reported from Jammu & Kashmir by several authors (e.g., Kramer 1977; Murthy & Sharma 1976; Nanhoe & Ouboter 1987; Sharma & Sharma 1975; Smith 1943). Also reported from the state by Sahi & Duda (1985), but not in a subsequent work by the same authors (Sahi & Duda 1996). It is unclear whether the authors intentionally removed the species from the state list in the latter work. The species is not included for the state herein, pending confirmation.
Distribution: Bhutan, India (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, West Bengal), Nepal.

Trachischium guentheri

Rose-bellied Slender Snake, (Günther's Oriental Worm Snake)

Korallenbauch-Wurmnatter

Rosenbuget Ormesnog

1890 Trachischium guentheri Boulenger

Remarks: Records from Tibet refer to nyalamense (Guo, Liu, Jin, Shu, Wu & Che 2024). Presence in Nepal needs confirmation (Kästle, Rai & Schleich 2013). Presence in Bangladesh also needs confirmation (Ghosh 2021).
Distribution: Bhutan, India (Sikkim, West Bengal).

Distribution: China (Tibet).

Trachischium reticulatum

Assam Iridescent Snake (Asian Iridescent Snake)

Assam-Regenbogennatter

Assam-regnbuesnog

1854 Calamaria reticulata Blyth [not Calamaria reticulata Boie 1827]
Blythia reticulata Theobald 1868
Trachischium reticulatum Guo, Liu, Jin, Shu, Wu & Che 2024
1912 Aproaspidops antecursorum Annandale (Smith 1943)

Remarks: Presence in Tibet needs confirmation. The type locality of Aproaspidops antecursorum lies in Arunachal Pradesh in an area claimed by China. The alleged occurrence of reticulatum in Tibet (e.g., Rao 2000; Zhao & Adler 1993) seems to be based on the sole specimen collected in this locality (Vogel, Lalremsanga & Vanlalhrima 2017).
