Remarks:
Known from only a single specimen found in the stomach of a Central American Coral Snake
(Micrurus nigrocinctus)
collected in 1976.
The description of the species was withheld by researchers hoping for more specimens to be found.
The species was finally described 42 years later in 2018, although no live live specimens had been found in the meantime, in spite of at least a dozen study trips
into the region (Campbell, Smith & Hall 2018).
Distribution:
Mexico
(Chiapas,
Oaxaca).
