Remarks: Previously regarded as a subspecies of fasciata (e.g., Peters & Orejas-Miranda 1970; Kofron 1985). Revalidated as a separate species by Grünwald, Toribio-Jiménez, Montaño-Ruvalcaba, Franz-Chávez, Peñaloza-Montaño, Barrera-Nava, Jones, Rodriguez, Hughes, Strickland & Reyes-Velasco (2021). A record of fasciata from Michoacan (Alvarado-Díaz, Suazo-Ortuño, Wilson & Medina-Aguilar 2013) is tentatively referred to guerreroensis.
Distribution: Mexico (Guerrero, Michoacan, Oaxaca).
