Contents: 12 species, of which 9 (75.0%) are endemic.
Endemism: 0% 100%
Remarks: Synonymized with Typhlops by Pyron & Wallach (2014), but revalidated by Nagy, Marion, Glaw, Miralles, Nopper, Vences & Hedges (2015).
Distribution: West Indies.
Reported from: Antigua & Barbuda (Antigua, Barbuda), British Virgin Islands (incl. Anegada), Dominica, Guadeloupe, Montserrat, Puerto Rico (incl. Culebra, Mona, Vieques), Saint Barthelemy, Saint Kitts & Nevis (Nevis, Saint Kitts), Sint Eustatius, Turks & Caicos Islands (Caicos Islands, Turks Islands), U.S. Virgin Islands (incl. St. Croix).

Remarks: Previously included naugus. Records from Virgin Gorda refer to naugus (Hedges & Thomas 1991). The Necker Island population of richardi may belong to catapontus (Perry & Gerber 2006), as which it was listed by Henderson & Powell (2009) and Edgar (2010).
Distribution: British Virgin Islands (Anegada).
