1992 Cerrophidion Campbell & Lamar (type species: Bothriechis godmanni Günther 1863)
Contents: 5 species, of which 2 (40.0%) are endemic.
Endemism: 0% 100%
Remarks: The genus contains species originally included in Bothrops (e.g., Peters & Orejas-Miranda 1970; Campbell 1985) and, more recently, in Porthidium (e.g., Vampbell & Lamar 1989). Previously included Mixcoatlus barbouri and its former synonym M. browni.
Distribution: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico (Chiapas, Oaxaca, Veracruz), Panama.

Remarks: Although reported (as godmani) from Nicaragua (e.g., Villa, Wilson & Johnson 1988; Köhler 1999; Campbell & Lamar 2004), no voucher specimens confirm the presence of Cerrophidion in the country (Jadin, Townsend, Castoe & Campbell 2012).
Distribution: El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua.
