Contents: 3 species, all of which are endemic.
Endemism: 0% 100%
Remarks: Previously included the species now placed in Sinomicrurus. The three species of Hemibungarus were previously regarded as subspecies of a single species (calligaster) (e.g., Leviton 1964). They are regarded herein as separate species, following most recent publications (e.g., Leviton, Brown & Siler 2014; Supsup, Puna, Asis, Redoblado, Panaguinit, Guinto, Rico, Diesmos, Brown & Mallari 2016; Weinell & Brown 2018). Taxonomic status of a single record from Samar (Leviton 1963, based on Peters 1861) is uncertain.
Distribution: Philippines (Catanduanes, Cebu, Guimaras, Luzon, Masbate, Mindoro, Negros, Panay, Polillo, Samar).

Remarks: Previously included gemianulis and mcclungi. Taxonomic status of a single record from Catanduanes (Ross & Gonzales 1992) is uncertain. It is provisionally assigned herein to calligaster.
Distribution: Philippines (Catanduanes, Luzon, Masbate, Mindoro).
