Indotyphlops mollyozakiae Midtgaard 2020 (this work)

Remarks: This species was known informally for a couple of decades as Ramphotyphlops ozakiae (subsequently as Typhlops ozakiae or Indotyphlops ozakiae), pending a formal desciption which was never published, however. Finally, Wallach (2020) described it under the name Ramphotyphlops mollyozakiae. It is reassigned herein to the genus Indotyphlops, following Hedges, Marion, Lipp, Marin & Vidal (2014), who transferred ozakiae to that genus. So far known only from Sakaerat Biosphere Reserve, Pak Thong Chai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Thailand (Chan-Ard 2012), but the locality plotted in Chan-Ard (2012) is misplaced. According to Cox, Hoover, Chanhome & Thirakhupt (2012), there is a questionable single specimen from Sumatra, which needs confirmation.
Distribution: Thailand.

Remarks: Although this species was reported from Jammu & Kashmir by Sahi & Duda (1985), it was not listed in a subsequent work by the same authors (Sahi & Duda 1996). It is unclear whether the authors intentionally removed the species from the state list in their latter work, but since all other reports of the species are from NE. India, its presence in Jammu & Kashmir is here regarded as doubtful.
Distribution: India (Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya, Nagaland).
