Remarks: Suggested to be a synonym of raniceps (e.g., Rueda-Almonacid, Carr, Mittermeier, Rodríguez-Mahecha, Mast, Vogt, Rhodin, Ossa-Velásquez, Rueda & Mittermeier 2007), but validity supported by Molina, Machado & Zaher (2012). Although reported from Colombia (e.g., McCord & Joseph-Ouni 2002a; Fritz & Havas 2006), no confirmed records seem to support this, although presence in the southeastern part of the country seems probable (see map in Molina, Machado & Zaher 2012).
