Contents:
  67 species of which 40 (59.7%) are endemic - 10 genera of which 3 (30.0%) are endemic (as of December 31st, 2018).

Remarks: Previously included the subfamily Gerrhosaurinae, now considered a separate family, Gerrhosauridae (see remarks under that family).

Distribution:  SubSaharan Africa.
