Remarks:
This genus was described on the basis of species previously assigned to
Mabuya.
It is unclear to me why Euprepis, which antedates Brasiliscincus, has not been accepted as the valid name for this genus, since Scincus agilis, Raddi 1823, seems to have been accepted as the type species of both nominal genera (e.g., Bauer 2003).
