Remarks:
Manier (2004) did not accept etheridgei as a separate species and retained it as a synonym of lecontei, pending further studies. This has been followed by some some authors (e.g., Wallach, Williams & Boundy 2014), however, it has been recognized by most other authors (e.g., Grismer 1999; Frost 2007, Wilson & Johnson 2010; Wilson, Mata-Silva & Johnson 2013).
