1935 Pseudogonatodes guianensis Parker
1967 Pseudogonatodes amazonicus Vanzolini (Huey & Dixon 1970)

Remarks: Status of amazonicus is uncertain. Several authors (e.g., Huey & Dixon 1970, Hoogmoed 1973, Dixon & Soini 1975, 1986, Duellman 1978, Gasc 1981) have suggested its synonymy with guianensis, and Vanzolini (1986) regarded it as such, referring to Huey & Dixon (1970), although synonymy was only suggested by these authors. Following Avila-Pires (1995), I tentatively regard guianensis and amazonicus as synonyms, pending further studies.
Distribution: Brazil (Acre, Amapa, Amazonas, Mato Grosso, Para, Rondonia, Roraima), Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Surinam, Venezuela.
