Remarks:
Presence in Sicily is uncertain. Several authors have not included the island in the range of girondica (e.g., Venchi & Sindaco 2007; Sindaco, Doria, Razzetti & Bernini [eds.] 2006). Nevertheless, several localities have been mentioned in the literature of which at least one has a voucher with exact locality data (Dusej in Böhme (ed.) 1993). It has been suggested that the species may not be native to Sicily and that existing records thus are based on introductions (Dusej, ibid.).
Distribution:
Algeria,
France,
Gibraltar,
Italy,
Morocco,
Portugal,
Spain,
Tunisia.
