Remarks: Listed for China in some works (e.g., Nguyen, Ho & Nguyen 2009; Bain & Hurley 2011), however, no works listing exact localities in the country have been found. Some reports of introductions are doubtful and/or unvouchered: Brazil (Rio de Janeiro), Chile (mainland), Pitcairn Islands. See Hoogmoed & Avila-Pires (2015) regarding New World introductions. Remarks: Sometimes regarded as a synonym of lugubris (e.g., Brown & Parker 1977; Kluge 2001), however, woodfordi is a bisexual species, whereas lugubris is unisexual (McCoy 2006). Philippine records refer to lugubris (Brown & Alcala 1978). A Bornean record (Beutelschiess & Beutelschiess 1994) probably refer to ranauensis (Das 2007c).
Distribution: Papua New Guinea (Eastern New Guinea), Solomon Islands.
