Contents: 7 species, of which 4 (57.1%) are endemic.
Endemism: 0% 100%
Remarks: Previously included two other species, guianensis and hoogmoedi, which were transferred to Loxopholis by Goicoechea, Frost, Riva, Pellegrino, Sites, Rodrigues & Padial (2016) (now L. pakaraima and L. hoogmoedi).
Distribution: Bolivia, Brazil (Acre, Amapa, Amazonas, Maranhao, Mato Grosso, Para [incl. Marajo Island], Rondonia, Roraima), Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Surinam, Venezuela.

Remarks: A record from Peru is considered doubtful (Ribeiro-Junior & Amaral 2017). Although stating that the species is unrecorded from Guyana, Kuijpers (2024) nevertheless plotted two localities in the distribution map, which were clearly within the country.
Distribution: Brazil (Amapa, Mato Grosso, Para), French Guiana, Surinam.

Remarks: Previously regarded as a subspecies of reticulata. Revalidated by Hoogmoed & Avila Pires (1992). Reported (without exact locality) from Brazil (Peters & Donoso-Barros 1970), but not mentioned by Costa & Bernils (2015). Avila-Pires, Hoogmoed & Silva (2018) confirmed its presence in Para, Brazil. Venezuelan records refer to montigena (Avila-Pires, Hoogmoed & Silva 2018).
Distribution: Brazil (Para), French Guiana, Surinam.
