Remarks: The species of this genus were formerly included in the genus Typhlops. Previously included Virgotyphlops braminus.

Remarks: Although this species was reported from Jammu & Kashmir by Sahi & Duda (1985), it was not listed in a subsequent work by the same authors (Sahi & Duda 1996). It is unclear whether the authors intentionally removed the species from the state list in their latter work, but since all other reports of the species are from NE. India, its presence in Jammu & Kashmir is here regarded as doubtful. Not listed for Chhattisgarh by Ahmed, Basak, Sarkar, Suraj & Babarta (2021).
