Remarks: Reports from Sierra Leone (e.g., Aylmer 1922; Chippaux & Jackson 2019) are considered erroneous (Trape & Baldé 2014). Chippaux & Jackson (2019) also showed a locality in Guinea in their map, but no other references have been found to support the presence of the species in this country.
Distribution: Angola, Benin, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo-Brazzaville, Congo-Kinshasa, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia.

Remarks: Revalidated as a separate species by Broadley (1994). Specimens from Lake Baringo (Kenya) probably belong to this species (Spawls, Howell, Hinkel & Menegon 2018) and are provisionally included herein.
