However, macclellandii may be present in Vietnam.
Records from Taiwan refer to swinhoei.
Records from Ryukyu Islands (Japan) refer to iwasakii.
The taxon nigriventer was previously regarded as a synonym of macclellandii (e.g., Golay & al. 1993), then revalidated as a separate species by Mirza, Varma & Campbell (2020),
but most recently synonymized again with macclellandii (Smart, Ingrasci, Sarker, Lalremsanga, Murphy, Ota, Tu, Shouche, Orlov & Smith 2021).
