Siagonodon unguirostris Wallach, Williams & Boundy 2014 |
Remarks:
Previously assigned to the genus
Rena (e.g., Adalsteinsson, Branch, Trape, Vitt & Hedges 2009).
Included in the genus Siagonodon herein, following Wallach, Williams & Boundy (2014), although these authors did not present any evidence
for their reassignment of the species.
Considering its distribution, it does seem unlikely, though, that unguirostris should belong in the otherwise strictly North American genus
Rena.
Distribution:
Argentina,
Bolivia,
Paraguay.
