Schools & Hedges (2021) reviewed this group of lizards and split them into 11 genera (Advenus, Caribicus, Celestus, Comptus, Diploglossus, Mesoamericus, Ophiodes, Panolopus, Sauresia, Siderolamprus, and Wetmorena).
