Remarks: Previously included the populations recently described as solimoensis. Records from Bolivia, Ecuador (see remarks), Peru, and parts of Brazil refer to solimoensis. Records from Saint Martin refer to oskrobapreinorum. According to Bergmann & Russell (2007), the species occurs as far south as southern Colombia, however, their distribution map clearly shows that it enters northwestern Ecuador. Although included for Jalisco by Cruz-Sáenz, Guerrero, Lazcano & Télles-López (2009), presence in the state is considered undocumented herein, following Cruz-Sáenz, Muñoz-Nolasco, Mata-Silva, Johnson, García-Padilla & Wilson (2017), who did not list the species for Jalisco. Presence in Acre and Rondonia is considered questionable, although listed for the states by Costa & Bérnils (2018). No other sources have been found to confirm this, and the distribution map in Avila-Pires, Caicedo, Chaves, Cisneros-Heredia, Gutiérrez-Cárdenas, Lamar, Perez, Porras, Rivas, Solórzano, Sunyer, Wilson & Murphy (2019) places Acre and Rondonia far outside the range of the species.
Introduced to: U.S. Virgin Islands (incl. St. Croix).
Distribution: Anguilla (Anguilla Island), Antigua & Barbuda (Antigua, Barbuda), Aruba, Barbados, Belize, Bonaire, Brazil (Amapa, Amazonas, Maranhao, Para [incl. Marajo Island], Roraima), British Virgin Islands (incl. Anegada), Colombia, Costa Rica, Curacao, Dominica, Ecuador, French Guiana, Grenada, Guadeloupe (Desirade, Iles de la Petite Terre [Terre-de-Bas], Iles des Saintes, Marie-Galante), Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras (incl. Islas de la Bahia [Utila]), Martinique, Mexico (Campeche, Chiapas, Quintana Roo, Tabasco, Yucatan), Montserrat, Nicaragua (incl. Islas del Maiz [Isla Grande del Maiz]), Panama, Saba, Saint Barthelemy, Saint Kitts & Nevis (Nevis, Saint Kitts), Saint Lucia (incl. Maria Islands), Saint Vincent & the Grenadines (incl. Union Island, Saint Vincent), Sint Eustatius, Surinam, Trinidad & Tobago (Tobago, Trinidad), Venezuela (incl. Isla Margarita).
