Remarks:
Rocha, Ineich & Harris (2009) suggested that insulensis might represent a valid species, comprising the Pacific populations of mutilata, however, they did not make a formal
revalidation, pending further studies.
Nevertheless, Flecks, Schmitz, Böhme, Henkel & Ineich (2012); Zug, Ineich, Pregill & Hamilton (2012), and Zug (2013) listed insulensis as a separate species.
According to Zhao & Adler (1993), erroneously recorded as introduced to New Zealand (e.g., Robb 1980).

Remarks:
Doughty, Bourke, Tedeschi, Pratt, Oliver, Palmer & Craig (2018) did not mention the occurrence of this species in Queensland, neither did they include the state in
their distribution map.
It is unclear to me whether Queensland records (e.g., Cogger 2014; Vanderduys, Hines, Gynther, Kutt & Absolon 2011; Wilson & Swan 2010; Wilson 2005) are still valid
or have been reassigned to other species.

Remarks:
Presumed extirpated in Guam (Bauer 1994).
Presence in mainland New Guinea needs confirmation, according to Beckon (1992), who believed the species to be rare or absent there.
Nevertheless, it has been listed from the island by many subsequent publications (e.g., Bauer 1994; Rösler, Glaw & Günther 2005; Kraus & Allison 2006).
Records from the Loyalty Islands (New Caledonia) (Burt & Burt 1932) refer to vorax (Bauer & Sadlier 2000). Records from the Isle of Pines, off the
New Caledonian mainland, are based on wrong locality data (Bauer & Sadlier 2000).
Records from Lord Howe & Norfolk Islands (Australia) are erroneous (Cogger 1996).
Records from the Australian mainland (incl. Torres Strait Islands) are doubtful (Bauer 1994; Cogger 1996).
Not listed for Chile (Easter Island) by Gamboa (2020).

Neither Beckon (1992), nor Flecks, Schmitz, Böhme, Henkel & Ineich (2012) examined any specimens from Tonga, although they tentatively included the country in the distribution, however, no verified specimens from Tonga exist (Zug, Ineich, Pregill & Hamilton 2012). Records from Loyalty Islands, Vanuatu, and Norfolk Island refer to georgpotthasti. Records from the Moluccas refer to marginata. Records from New Guinea and satellites refer to marginata or membranacruralis. Introduced to French Polynesia (Flecks, Schmitz, Böhme, Henkel & Ineich 2012).
